With a deep rooted passion for finding beauty in all things, I look forward to working with you. On here, I share my work as a interior and home-design brand photographer, but also glimpses into life at The Cottage.
Welcome to our screened porch! This is the first time I’ve ever shown what it looks like outside of the holiday season! Our home has a lot of blue and green tones, so I carried them outside to the porch and brightened the shades. We think it is so relaxing and comfortable out here!
Max says “HI.”
Our outdoor sectional from Ashley Home Store has been one of the best purchases. We got it last summer and it has held up so well. It cleans easily from muddy paws and the cushions have stayed comfortable. When the heat isn’t unbearable, many naps happen on it!

One thing I’ve learned is sometimes you HAVE to pull the trigger on a piece for your home. The Terrazzo coffee table was a splurge and it was 10594% times worth it. It is sturdy (ie, heavy as lead), wipes down easily, and a great neutral to work with all seasons. I’ve considered getting another one to put in our living room – LOL. I seriously, love it that much.
We also have a variety of side tables for setting a glass or snack plate on. I’ve found one at ‘HomeGoods’ and the other at ‘At Home.’ This was my balance to the coffee table splurge. High-low. That’s the way to go. š
If you’ve been know me, or have been around this blog or Instagram account for any length of time, you know that I LOVE plants and flowers. All of them.
It is so exciting to see what new growth each spring will bring at The Gray Cottage. My gardenia shrubs exploded with blooms this year. I think all of the rain did wonders and my plants thanked God by flourishing with blossoms. I wish you could smell how incredible the gardenia blooms smell. On the coffee table, I added my first Caladium plant. Its been a interesting one to test out and will definitely add them into my outdoor gardens next year too. I’ve been researching companion plants to grow along side them. Layering a vintage vase, foraged shells, and comfy pillow/blanket combo feels so welcoming.
How fun is this match-striker from Lea at Creekwoodhill. She’s a great instagram account turned shop that I’ve followed for a few years. Check her out!
I have a huge passion for blankets on porches. A variety of weights and textures are great for a variety of temperatures the day or evening may bring. Anthropologie has some of my most favorite and fun ones. The black and white one is sold out, but they always have a great selection.
Our porch is 20ft x 12ft and open screens on 2 sides, which is great to have “house walls” that help block some of the heat/cold and wind throughout the year. We do have a TV out here, its just not shown. Sports and movies are awesome to watch out here! Definitely recommend having a TV hookup added if you’re building or adding on a screened porch!
We hope you enjoyed our screened porch and how we incorporated relaxing shades of green and blue into the design out here. Its Max-approved so that means the pieces must be durable and comfortable. Hope you follow along over on instagram as well: @thegraycottage.
